Dutch Festival Opportunity: On Thursday, July 12, at noon, there will be an appreciation meal for the carnival workers from the Dutch Festival. Members of the community will host a potluck meal, which is open to community members as well as the carnival workers. There will be a short devotion and song together, and we will be gifting them with various practical items. The event is meant to let these workers know they’re appreciated, because they’re not always welcomed in the communities they’re contracted to serve. Edgerton is a community of caring people; and this is a very practical way we can care for and show our appreciation to - these people who work so hard to bring us fun.
How you can help: 1. Donate by leaving items in the box at the library from now through the
beginning of July. *travel sized shampoo, deodorant, soap, and other toiletries. *bedding for semi-beds (sngl sized). * towels, washcloths, even clothing. * Bibles and devotionals. * Dutch Tupperware to send left-overs with them. 2. Join the potluck Thursday, July 12 at noon in the North shelter at City Park. *Bring 2 dishes to share - veggies, a main dish, rolls, dessert, etc. (home cooking, mac ‘n chees, garden fresh produce...anything that would be hard to replicate in a life on the road). * Mingle, eat, enjoy. Please contact Dianna Engelkes at 507-215-2869 before the end of June. Let her know what you’ll be bringing and how many will attend with you.
