Devotions: What Sort of People Ought You to Be?

Day 1:

Reading: 2 Peter 3:1-7

Devotional: Reflect on Peter's words about the scoffers who question the return of Jesus. Like them, do you find yourself impatient for the second coming of Christ, questioning why suffering and injustice persist? Spend some time in prayer asking God for the patience to trust His perfect timing. Remember, He is outside of time, not bound by our limited understanding.

Day 2:

Reading: 2 Peter 3:8-9

Devotional: Consider God's patience as a sign of His mercy and love. Rather than seeing His patience as a delay, recognize it as an opportunity for more people to come to repentance. Pray for those you know who are yet to accept Christ, that they may come to know His love and mercy.

Day 3:

Reading: 2 Peter 3:10-13

Devotional: Reflect on Peter's description of the Day of the Lord. The reality of this coming day should inspire us to live a life of purity and godliness, knowing that all our works will be exposed. What changes can you make in your life to pursue holiness more fervently?

Day 4:

Reading: 2 Peter 3:14-18

Devotional: As we anticipate the promised restoration, we are urged to remain diligent and avoid complacency. Are there areas in your life where you have become complacent in your walk with God? Seek God's guidance to help you stay alert and diligent in your faith.

Day 5:

Reading: Revelation 21:1-7

Devotional: The sermon reminds us of God's promise of a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. Reflect on this promise and what it means for your life. Despite the brokenness of our world, we have a glorious hope in Christ's return. Let this hope fuel your diligence and perseverance in living a godly life.
