This Week’s Announcements

High School Youth Director Position: Our church is seeking a high school youth leader to help guide and mentor our students in their faith. If you're passionate about working with teens and sharing God’s love, we’d love to hear from you. For more information or if you have any questions, please contact Pastor Mark.

Volunteers Needed for Sunday School & Midweek: We are in need of teachers for both Sunday School and Midweek for the upcoming year. If you’ve ever thought about trying something new or felt a nudge to get involved, now is the time! “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” – Luke 18:16. If you’re interested or have questions, please reach out to Caitlin Arp.

Bible League: You’re invited to the “Beyond Yesterday” conference, hosted by Bible League Volunteers on September 8-9 at Bethel CRC in Sioux Center. For details and registration, visit bibleleague.org/tickets. Register by August 31. Registration after August 17 incurs a $5 late fee.

Grief Share at ATLAS: The journey of grief is different for each individual, but there are useful insights to help & encourage you! ATLAS for Life in Pipestone (101 2nd St NE) is holding a Grief Share Support Group starting on Thursday, August 21st, for 13 weeks. There will be a meal at 5:00 p.m., followed by a video & discussion. Evenings should conclude by 7:30 p.m. You are welcome to join the group at any time during the 13-week time frame. A monetary donation to help cover some of the costs is appreciated but not necessary to attend. Call (507) 562-5777 to sign up!

Backpack Program: The annual Pipestone County backpack program that we have supported for many years has a new look. After partnering with Volunteers In Mercy last year, First Presbyterian in Pipestone has taken over distribution of school supplies for Pipestone students this year. VIM is working through the Edgerton food shelf to provide backpacks and school supplies for local students in Edgerton and Chandler. If you would like to help with this need, contact Dennis Kroll.

RFK SHOE STORE: Royal Family Kids Camp sees many kids come to camp with wrecked, worn, and poorly-fitting tennis shoes. We think it would be fun for the kids to be able to try on and choose their own new shoes. We plan to set up a "RFK Shoe Store" next summer at camp, and we need your help. When purchasing back-to-school shoes on sale for your own kids, would you be willing to buy two pairs and donate one for the RFK kids? Campers are ages 6-12, so likely shoe sizes would be kid size 1 up to adult size 9. New pairs of good tennis shoes are accepted anytime and can be dropped off at Insurance Services in Edgerton or text 507-227-7951 to arrange a different pick up. Thank you!

GEMS Registration: Wednesday, August 13th 6:30pm-8:30pm at Rock River Park. Girls everywhere are battling the storms of life and are tossed and turned by waves of fear and doubt. But what if girls really trusted the One more powerful than the wind and the waves and lived anchored to the unchanging Truth of Scripture? Join us this year as we "Walk On Water" and step out to trust our faithful God! GEMS is an acronym for Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior. Our vision is to see girls around the world actively and enthusiastically expressing love for God and others - girls equipped, motivated, and passionately engaged in living out their faith! Join area girls for a great night of games, snacks, and fellowship! We will get everyone introduced to GEMS Girls Club and registered for the upcoming year. Parents can come with their girls to the shelter house. You can look at this year's curriculum and fill out registration papers. The girls will stay there for activities and you are free to leave and return by 8:30pm to pick them back up. Please call Jen Brands with any questions at 507-227-5880 or email at jen.brands623@gmail.com
