Summary of the 48th Stated Meeting of Rivers & Lakes Presbytery September 25-26, 2026 in Edgerton, MN
Rivers & Lakes (RLP) had a meaningful and productive meeting at First Reformed Church of Edgerton, MN.
Here were some highlights:
Major Actions Taken:
We elected new committee members for the next term.
We approved the budget for 2027, continuing to ask member churches to contribute 1.25% POI to the Presbytery (in addition to the 1% POI to our General Assembly).
We approved the minutes of 24 of our churches.
We recognized the dismissal of FPEC of Montezuma.
We created an Administrative Commission to come alongside the Session of GracePoint as they handle a sensitive and challenging situation.
We approved a disbursement from the Seminarian Fund to support one of our Candidates.
We examined and voted to receive Ben Ziegler as a Teaching Elder, called as Pastor to First Presbyterian Church of Mora, MN.

Fall Soup Supper: We will be having our Fall Soup Supper on Wednesday, October 7 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Serving BBQs, a variety of soups, and delicious desserts. Free will donations. Pigs-in-the-blanket will also be available purchase ($13 per dozen). The sign-up sheet is in the entryway.

EDGE Youth Group Annual Kickoff Night: Join us at the softball diamonds on TONIGHT, starting around 5 PM. All ages welcome to join! Come join us for a fun night as we kick off another great year of EDGE! A meal will be served for a free-will offering (Game to follow). There will be a brief parents' meeting beforehand.
Presbytery: We're honored to host the Rivers and Lakes Fall Presbytery meeting here at First Reformed on September 25–26. As pastors and elders from across the presbytery gather in our building, it's a great opportunity for our congregation to be part of it.
Join us for evening worship on Friday, September 25, at 6:30 P.M., as we welcome our brothers and sisters from other EPC churches and worship together. Come support this gathering and see the wider church family God has given us.

Thank You, Teachers: We are thankful to share that all teaching positions for our 2026–2027 Sunday School and Midweek programs have been filled! Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to teach and help our children grow in their faith.
Sunday School begins Sunday, September 13, and Midweek begins Wednesday, September 16. We look forward to another great year of learning, growing, and connecting!

Volunteer Sunday School Teacher: We are still looking for one more Jr. High & one more High School Sunday School teacher. This is a shared teaching position, so you would teach approximately 11-12 lessons all year. If you're interested in serving or would like more information, please contact Caitlin Arp.
Classic Car Cruise & Show – Wednesday, August 19
Come enjoy an evening of classic cars and ice cream with us! Luverne Christian Reformed Church is hosting a Classic Car Cruise & Show on Wednesday, August 19. The cruise will leave from the church at 6:30 pm and return for a car show afterward. Bring your classic car or just come to check out the vehicles! After the cruise, we’ll be serving free ice cream around 7:15 pm.

Fellowship Schedule: We are updating our Fellowship Schedule! If you would like to be added to or removed from the rotation, please message Shanna Snyder. Those serving are paired with another couple and are asked to prepare 2 large pans of bars and serve coffee, juice, and bars following the morning worship service. If you would like to make a change to the schedule, please text at 507-227-3953 or leave a note in her church mailbox. Please be sure to include your name with your message.
