Niger Mission Trip Update #1

Greetings from Africa!

We spent the majority of the first three days traveling to Africa. We left on Friday and finally arrived on Monday morning. We were blessed to attend Easter Sunday services in Niger, and they asked us to serve the sacraments to the congregation. We arrived at the church building at 9:30, and the service ended at 11:50. There was a lot of praise and worship, dancing, testimonies, and a Profession of Faith. Many rejoiced because it was Sunday, and they could attend church!

Monday morning, we made the final leg of our journey with a three-hour flight in a bush plane. It is a bit warmer here than in Minnesota. The temperature is usually around 110, but the mornings are a cool 85 for about an hour.

We have been very blessed to be here so far. The rest of the week will be spent unpacking and setting up the eye clinic and operating room. We hope to start performing cataract surgeries by Saturday.

Please pray for people to come so that the doctors can remove their cataracts and improve, if not return their sight. The ultimate goal is for the missionaries here to teach the gospel and have people receive sight to their souls!
