Niger Mission Trip Update #2

Hello again from Africa!

A friendly lizard that jumped out of a tree and bounced off my head onto the ground was a bit of a surprise!

Most things have stayed the same. We have everything unpacked and set up for surgery next week. Unfortunately, the power supply has not been cooperating with us. The whole building needed to be rewired to meet American electrical standards. This was mostly completed by the time we arrived, but by the time we had everything ready to plug in, the power grid was too unstable to power up 14 plus machines that the clinic has. They were able to install a system to stop the surges and place everything on a battery backup, so tomorrow, we will power everything up to make sure it works. This may come with some pain as well.

Bed with a broken wheel now has a fresh new wooden leg....a bush fix!

Things are coming together. We know there will be bumps along the way, but we will stay strong and move forward!

The new operating room.

Thank you for your continued prayers during this mission trip.

Our walk to the hospital.
