Announcements

New Church Officers: The newly selected Ruling Elders are Jeff Bleyenburg and Dave Rieck. The new Deacons are Kellen Kooi, Lucas Roskamp, and Reed Van Hulzen. If there is any scriptural reason why these men should not be ordained and installed to their office, please see Jason Snyder or Pastor Mark.

Christmas Candlelight Service: Join us for a joyful evening as we celebrate the birth of our Savior at our annual Christmas Candlelight Service next Sunday, December 21 at 6:30pm. The night will include the Children’s Christmas Program, music from the Chapel Choir, and special selection from our 6th–12th grade students, along with a few additional special numbers. Come and enjoy a meaningful night of Scripture, music, and candlelight as we gather to rejoice in the hope of Christmas. All are warmly invited!

Edgerton Food Shelf Angel Tree: We invite you to participate in our 4th Annual Angel Tree/Gift Drive at First Reformed Church. The tree, located in the entryway, is decorated with ornaments, each representing a gift request or need. Simply take an ornament, purchase the item listed, and place the unwrapped gift in the tote beside the tree. We will be collecting items from Nov. 29 - Dec. 17. By doing so, you'll help us bring a little extra holiday cheer to local Food Shelf members in need. Let’s make this season brighter together!

Thank you: Many thanks to the Sunshine Circle for the basket of goodies given to us for Christmas. Everything is so delicious and is appreciated very much. — Art & Rose Bleyenburg, Jerold & Sophie Schoolmeester, Alvina Schoolmeester, Elaine Ulmer, Ray Hulstein

Name Change Vote Update: Thank you to all who participated in the name change vote. We received 13 absentee “yes” votes and 9 “no” votes. On Sunday, following the service, 61 “yes” votes and 41 “no” votes were cast. Because a 70% majority was required to approve the change, the motion did not pass. The church name will remain the same, with the tag line “First Reformed Church, an Evangelical Presbyterian Church.”

Sound Board Volunteers: We are looking for volunteers to help run the sound board during our Sunday worship services. No prior experience needed, just a willingness to learn and serve. If you are interested in volunteering your time, please talk to Caitlin Arp.
